Initiatives for Students and Staff from the GMSD Coordinated School of Health (CSH)
1) Grab~N~Go Heath Projects (12 total; 1-4 are about nutrition) 2) Learning Labels Nutrition Experience (working with The Pink Palace of Memphis to share this educational experience with GMSD classrooms) |
3) Mustangs Get Cooking Challenge (GMSD students and staff will learn about prepping healthy meals and participate in this month long challenge)
4) Virtual Yoga times have been updated for students and staff. Kid's class times are 4:30-5:20 and staff class times are 5:30-6:30. Click here to register.

Coordinated School Health March Initiative "Hydrate for Health"
A new month means a new initiative for our GMSD family! This month we'll focus on proper hydration and adequate water in-take. There's a challenge specifically for staff and a separate challenge for students. Student Challenge: -Elementary: Students will create their own water themed superhero! Click here for instructions. |

1.) Make a power point presentation that shows the importance of staying hydrated.
2.) Make a proposal that explains how our schools can better promote staying hydrated by drinking water.
3.) Create a short story about staying hydrated and its importance for the human body.

Track your water in-take over the month of March. The link below will take you to our hydrate for health page on the CSH website. There's a Google Form where you'll enter your daily water in-take and resources, such as water in-take calculator and a PDF from YMCA to make tracking your in-take easier.

Special congrats to Robert Buse (plant manager), Ms. Skylar Workman (guidance counselor), and Assistant Principal, Mrs. Kendra Pickens! You can watch live on the GMSD YouTube channel at 6:30pm.
